Well Made Weekly Roundup
a whirlwind week, the best people, and recipes worth coming home to!
Hi friends —
Happy Saturday! Okay so this week has been a whirlwind in the absolute best way — but I am not going to lie, I am running on fumes right now and cannot wait to get home and sleep in my own bed haha!! For someone who is such a routine person, traveling really does drain me and it’s hard on my body. However, I am soaking up every second while I’m in it, because this week was so, so sweet.
This week I got to travel to the Hamptons for a brand trip with Tate’s Bake Shop and it was genuinely…incredible. I personally have never been to the Hamptons before (I know, kinda shocking since I’m from NJ), so this is the first time I’ve ever been able to go!! I got to go behind the scenes and see exactly how their cookies are made, which was such a cool experience — and I also got to spend time with some of my other creator friends which is always the best. Those trips are so fun and so energizing, and I’m so grateful for opportunities like that. AND I have to say that opportunities like that would not be possible without all of YOU. To all of you who have followed and supported me for years and years, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You play a bigger role than you could ever know, and I am forever grateful!!
After that, I basically got home Wednesday night, turned around, and left Thursday for a wedding in Lynchburg, Virginia — where Dustin is in the wedding! It has been the best weekend celebrating them, but safe to say I am going to be absolutely wiped when I get home tomorrow. And honestly? I am so itching to get back into the kitchen — nothing makes me miss it more than a week away from it!
If you missed anything this week, here’s a wrap-up of every new recipe from this week in the order they went live on the blog, Instagram, TikTok, and Pinterest — sweet things to scroll, save, and bake! Plus a few favorite tools and ingredients, some highlights, and a word of encouragement to carry into the week ahead.
Peanut Butter S’mores Oatmeal Cookie Skillet (w/ Brown Butter)
Soft and gooey in the middle with perfectly golden, crisp, and chewy edges. The brown butter adds the most deep, nutty richness that pairs so beautifully with the peanut butter, and then you get melty pockets of chocolate, gooey toasty marshmallows, and crushed graham crackers in every single bite. Served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a sprinkle of flaky sea salt — it is everything.
Brown Butter Banana Pudding Cupcakes
Soft, tender brown butter banana cupcakes filled with a smooth, creamy classic vanilla pudding right in the center, topped with the lightest whipped buttercream and finished with crushed Nilla wafers. Every single element of a classic banana pudding in the most perfect cupcake form — nostalgic, dreamy, and so good.
Blueberry Pie Donut Bars
Pillowy soft and fluffy with that perfectly golden, slightly chewy exterior, filled with a bright and jammy blueberry compote that is absolutely bursting with flavor. Coated in a silky vanilla bean glaze, finished with a swirl of whipped buttercream and buttery shortbread crumbles on top. These are so special.
Things I Loved This Week
Favorite Ingredients:
Flaky Sea Salt - I’m sure you guys know the drill by now; I add this on EVERYTHING. It is the flakiest of flaky and so darn good.
Vanilla Bean Paste - so so rich in vanilla flavor!
Vanilla Extract - my favorite vanilla extract for all baking <3
My Favorite Yeast - what I use for ANY yeasted dough!
Avocado Oil Blend - my favorite for frying
My Favorite Frozen Wild Blueberries - the BEST blueberries!! I used these in the fritters and the outcome is just the best (flavor and texture)
Ballerina Farm Farm Flour - I’ve been absolutely LOVING this flour for my yeasted doughs (especially cinnamon rolls and donuts); it’s very similar to bread flour, but has an even higher protein content!
Favorite Tools:
My Favorite Ice Cream Scoop - I use this to scoop anything and everything! Batters, doughs, ice cream, etc. (and I use it to scoop my cookies even though it’s technically not a cookie scoop)
Breville Espresso Machine - one of my favorite purchases ever, there is nothing better than a cup of coffee from this and made at home!
French Rolling Pin - just my fave rolling pin!
Our Place Mini Always Pan - I almost always brown my butter in this pan, and cook on it all the time; it’s amazing and non-toxic!
Our Place Always Pan - what I said above, just the bigger version of the pan!
Le Creuset Braiser - I actually prefer to fry in this, and it’s amazing for cooking as well!
12-Cup Muffin Pan - my favorite standard muffin pan, and what I used for the banana pudding cupcakes!!
Lodge Cast Iron Pan - I love making my cathead biscuits in the skillet (and cookie skillets); also amazing for cooking in general!!
KitchenAid Stand Mixer - this needs almost no explanation, it’s simply a life-saver in the kitchen
KitchenAid Cordless Hand Mixer - perfect for when you don’t want to pull out the stand mixer!
Wooden Cooking & Baking Utensils - the one you see in every video while browning butter, they are my absolute favorite and so versatile
Gold Silverware Set - you guys are always asking where my gold utensils are from haha! I’ve had these for years, and they’ve lasted so well!
Wedgwood China - the china set (tea cups, plates, bowls, etc.) that you keep seeing are from Wedgwood! I actually thrifted the set I have, so I’m not sure if it’s still available; but all of their sets are absolutely beautiful!
Digital Kitchen Scale - if there’s one thing I can convince you of in baking, it’s to start weighing your ingredients instead of using cups! It’s SO much more accurate, as you’ll get more consistent results with each recipe (and so much easier in my opinion). This is the kitchen scale I have, and I absolutely love it <3
My Current Devotional - my absolute favorite way to start the day, with the Lord. I’ve been really enjoying this devotional throughout this year so far
This Week Looked Like
The Hamptons brand trip with Tate's Bake Shop — such a memorable experience!
Lots and lots and lots of coffee
Time with the Lord while I’m away <3
Celebrating Dustin's friend's wedding in Lynchburg this weekend.
Appreciating the slower, quieter in-between moments just as much as the busy ones!
Your sweet messages and recreations that fill my heart every single week <3 !!
A Note for the Week Ahead
"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." — Isaiah 40:31
This verse feels so personal to me this week. After a lot of travel, a lot of go-go-go, and a lot of poured-out energy — this is the reminder I needed. We are not meant to run on our own strength alone. When we’re tired, when we’re worn thin, when the pace of life feels like a lot — that is exactly when we lean in and let Him renew us.
As you head into this new week, whatever you’re carrying — the busyness, the exhaustion, the uncertainty — I pray you find rest and renewal in Him. You don’t have to white-knuckle your way through it. Let Him be your strength this week. He is more than enough!
As always, ALL of my full recipes are up on the blog so you can bake your way through them at wellmadebykiley.com <3.
Again, thank you for being here — whether you try one recipe or simply enjoy the scroll, I’m forever grateful you’re part of this community.
Here’s to another sweet, simple, and well made week ahead!
Kiley 🤎
