Well Made Weekly Roundup
a peek at this week’s bakes, a few things I loved, and a reminder for your heart as we head into a new week.
Hi friends —
Happy Sunday! Our weekly roundup is coming on Sunday this week, as Dustin and I were traveling the past few days for his Christmas work party in Fort Worth, TX. We had the absolute best time! This week was really fun in the kitchen — lots of classic flavors, simple comforts, and recipes that feel like a warm hug. I leaned into nostalgic bakes and slow mornings, and it reminded me how grounding it can be to create something familiar and comforting this time of year.
That being said — I’m so excited for what’s coming in the New Year! I have sooo many things planned, including many new recipes, series on social, updates from behind the scenes, etc. I can’t wait to bring you all along!
If you missed anything this week, here’s a wrap-up of every new recipe from this week in the order they went live on the blog, Instagram, TikTok, and Pinterest — sweet things to scroll, save, and bake! Plus a few favorite tools and ingredients, some highlights, and a word of encouragement to carry into the week ahead.
Sugar Cookie Gooey Butter Cake
A soft, tender sugar cookie cake base topped with a rich, creamy, slightly tangy gooey cream cheese layer that melts into the cake and turns lightly crackly on top. Served warm with vanilla ice cream and a dusting of powdered sugar — simple, nostalgic, and so comforting.
Peppermint Mocha Oreo Cheesecake Bars
A crisp Oreo crust layered with a smooth peppermint mocha cheesecake filling, studded with crushed Oreos and peppermint and finished with a hint of espresso to deepen the chocolate flavor. Topped with silky ganache and chopped peppermint bark for the perfect festive bite.
Vanilla Bean Croissant Bread Pudding w/ Buttered Caramel Rum Sauce
Buttery croissants soaked in a rich vanilla bean custard, baked until custardy in the middle with a golden, lightly crisp top. Finished with vanilla ice cream, a silky caramel rum sauce, and flaky sea salt. Cozy and elegant all at once.
Jam and Custard Doughssants (Croissant-Shaped Doughnuts)
My FAVORITE of the week! Croissant-shaped donuts that are soft, fluffy, and pillowy inside with a golden, slightly chewy exterior rolled in sugar. Filled with silky vanilla bean custard and tart raspberry jam, and best served warm with a hot cup of coffee.
Things I Loved This Week
Favorite Ingredients:
Flaky Sea Salt - I’m sure you guys know the drill by now; I add this on EVERYTHING. It is the flakiest of flaky and so darn good.
Vanilla Bean Paste - currently my favorite vanilla bean paste, such a rich vanilla
Vanilla Extract - my favorite vanilla extract for all baking <3
Bread Flour - my favorite for cinnamon rolls, donuts, bread, etc.
Olive Oil - my favorite olive oil, also love to use this for frying (opposed to popular belief, olive oil is completely safe to use for frying)
Avocado Oil - another great option for frying for its neutral flavor!
Ghirardelli 60% Cacao Dark Chocolate Chips - a favorite chocolate chip!
DeLallo Instant Espresso Powder - the best instant espresso; I used it in the hot chocolate this week to enhance the chocolate flavor and ugh, so good <3
Unsweetened Dutch-Process Cocoa Powder - my go-to for cocoa powder!
Favorite Tools:
My Favorite Ice Cream Scoop - I use this to scoop anything and everything! Batters, doughs, ice cream, etc. (and I use it to scoop my cookies even though it’s technically not a cookie scoop)
Checkered Cutting Board - my favorite cutting board, and also so cute!
Made In 9x13” Porcelain Baking Dish - my favorite porcelain 9x13” pan if I’m not using a metal one! I love how simple and beautiful it is, and it bakes perfectly! I always use this for cinnamon rolls <3
Our Place Always Pan - my favorite non-toxic pan to use for essentially anything on the stovetop; my set has lasted me forever!
12” Cast Iron Skillet - perfect for cooking and baking — I love making cookie skillets, cobblers, biscuits, etc. in this!
10” Cast Iron Skillet - also perfect for cooking and baking, and a great choice for a smaller skillet!
French Rolling Pin - just my favorite rolling pin ever <3
KitchenAid Cordless Hand Mixer - the best for beating anything without having
Wooden Cooking & Baking Utensils - the one you see in every video while browning butter, they are my absolute favorite and so versatile
Gold Silverware Set - you guys are always asking where my gold utensils are from haha! I’ve had these for years, and they’ve lasted so well!
Wedgwood China - the china set (tea cups, plates, bowls, etc.) that you keep seeing are from Wedgwood! I actually thrifted the set I have, so I’m not sure if it’s still available; but all of their sets are absolutely beautiful!
Digital Kitchen Scale - if there’s one thing I can convince you of in baking, it’s to start weighing your ingredients instead of using cups! It’s SO much more accurate, as you’ll get more consistent results with each recipe (and so much easier in my opinion). This is the kitchen scale I have, and I absolutely love it <3
My Current Devotional - my absolute favorite way to start the day, with the Lord. I’ve been really enjoying this devotional throughout this year so far
This Week Looked Like
Filming and photographing some more cozy recipes! I’m really excited for the New Year, and have some fun series coming :)
Slow mornings with warm coffee and the Lord!
Traveling to Fort Worth, TX for Dustin’s work Christmas party — we had the best time <3
Seeing so many of you saving and baking these recipes — truly the best part.
Lots of walks with Dustin and the dogs!
A Note for the Week Ahead
“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in You.” — Isaiah 26:3
This verse has been such a gentle reminder for me lately. In busy seasons, peace doesn’t come from everything slowing down — it comes from where we place our trust. When we fix our eyes on Him, there’s a steadiness that settles in, even when life feels full.
As you head into this new week, I hope you’re met with moments of calm, warmth, and rest — whether that looks like a quiet morning, something baking in the oven, or simply a deep breath in the middle of the day. And as we celebrate, I’m wishing you the merriest Christmas — filled with peace, joy, meaningful moments with the people you love, and a reminder of the true reason for the season.
As always, ALL of my full recipes are up on the blog so you can bake your way through them at wellmadebykiley.com <3.
Again, thank you for being here — whether you try one recipe or simply enjoy the scroll, I’m forever grateful you’re part of this community.
Here’s to another sweet, simple, and well made week ahead!
Kiley 🤍
