Well Made Weekly Roundup
four cozy new recipes, weekly favorites, and a little encouragement for your week
Hi friends —
Happy Saturday! This week felt like such a sweet mix of cozy baking, slower mornings, and getting back into a good creative rhythm. I’ve been spending a lottt time in the kitchen testing, filming, etc., and the dogs curled up nearby. It’s safe to say that the holiday season is in full swing (always the busiest time of year). I have SO many fun, new recipes coming soon, and I’m so excited!! It’s been one of those weeks that reminded me how grounding simple routines can be — a warm breakfast, a quiet moment with the Lord, and a little time creating something I’m excited to share with you.
I’m also sooo excited for Thanksgiving (aren’t we all???) — we are headed back to Virginia next week to spend some time with Dustin’s family for the holiday, and it’s going to be really sweet. What are your plans?!
If you missed anything this week, here’s a wrap-up of what went live this week on the blog, Instagram, TikTok, and Pinterest — sweet things to scroll, save, and bake! Plus a few favorite tools and ingredients, some highlights, and a word of encouragement to carry into the week ahead.
Cornbread Bread Pudding with Salted Honey Butter Syrup
Warm, soft cornbread soaked in a vanilla bean custard, baked until golden with a lightly crisp top, then served with a salted honey butter syrup and flaky sea salt.
Gingerbread Waffles with Homemade Whipped Cream
Soft, fluffy, and perfectly spiced with crisp golden edges — topped with butter, homemade whipped cream, and maple syrup. The best cozy winter breakfast.
Cranberry Cathead Biscuits with Whipped Orange Honey Butter
Big, soft, rustic biscuits with tart cranberries in every bite, served warm with whipped orange honey butter and flaky sea salt. Simple and so comforting!
Gingerbread Donuts with Eggnog Cheesecake Filling
Soft, pillowy donuts fried to golden perfection, rolled in sugar, and filled with a smooth, tangy, spiced eggnog cheesecake cream that pairs beautifully with the gingerbread. The perfect holiday donut!
Things I Loved This Week
Favorite Ingredients:
Flaky Sea Salt - I’m sure you guys know the drill by now; I add this on EVERYTHING. It is the flakiest of flaky and so darn good.
Vanilla Bean Powder - I’ve been adding it to essentially all of my recipes
Vanilla Bean Paste - currently my favorite vanilla bean paste, such a rich vanilla
Vanilla Extract - my favorite vanilla extract for all baking <3
Bread Flour - my favorite for cinnamon rolls, donuts, bread, etc.
Molasses - the best and what I use for allll of my holiday baking!
Bob’s Red Mill Cornbread Mix - what I used for the cornbread bread pudding, so yum!
Olive Oil - my favorite olive oil, also love to use this for frying (opposed to popular belief, olive oil is completely safe to use for frying)
Avocado Oil - another great option for frying for its neutral flavor!
Favorite Tools:
My Favorite Ice Cream Scoop - I use this to scoop anything and everything! Batters, doughs, ice cream, etc. (and I use it to scoop my cookies even though it’s technically not a cookie scoop)
Checkered Cutting Board - my favorite cutting board, and also so cute!
Our Place Always Pan - my favorite non-toxic pan to use for essentially anything on the stovetop; my set has lasted me forever!
USA Pan 9x5” Loaf Pan - my favorite loaf pan ever
Heart Waffle Maker - such a fun one, and works perfectly!
12” Cast Iron Skillet - perfect for cooking and baking — I love making cobblers, biscuits, etc. in this!
My Favorite Frying Pot - just the best
Mini Christmas Cookie Cutters Set (for Gingerbread Men-Shaped Butter Pats) - I think everyone needs a mini cookie cutter set
Gingerbread Cookie Cutter - perfect for cookies, and so fun for the donuts!
French Rolling Pin - just my favorite rolling pin ever <3
KitchenAid Cordless Hand Mixer - the best for beating anything without having
Wooden Cooking & Baking Utensils - the one you see in every video while browning butter, they are my absolute favorite and so versatile
Gold Silverware Set - you guys are always asking where my gold utensils are from haha! I’ve had these for years, and they’ve lasted so well!
Wedgwood China - the china set (tea cups, plates, bowls, etc.) that you keep seeing are from Wedgwood! I actually thrifted the set I have, so I’m not sure if it’s still available; but all of their sets are absolutely beautiful!
Digital Kitchen Scale - if there’s one thing I can convince you of in baking, it’s to start weighing your ingredients instead of using cups! It’s SO much more accurate, as you’ll get more consistent results with each recipe (and so much easier in my opinion). This is the kitchen scale I have, and I absolutely love it <3
My Current Devotional - my absolute favorite way to start the day, with the Lord. I’ve been really enjoying this devotional throughout this year so far
This Week Looked Like
Slow mornings with coffee and journaling before diving into recipe testing.
A whole day dedicated to frying donuts — the house smelled like Christmas for hours!
Editing days curled up with blankets and coffee <3
Putting the Christmas tree up! We have yet to get the ornaments or topper on, along with our other Christmas decorations, but I just love the ambiance the tree brings to the house — so cozy!
We went to go see Wicked: For Good — 10/10, so good!!! I don’t think anything can compare to the first movie, but this one was still truly incredible <3
Lots of walks with the dogs in perfect cool-weather sunshine.
A Note for the Week Ahead
“Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28
This verse has been sitting on my heart all week. There’s something so comforting about knowing that rest isn’t something we have to earn — it’s something God freely offers. When we’re tired, overwhelmed, or stretched thin, He invites us to pause, breathe, and bring it all to Him.
As you walk into this new week, I hope you feel permission to slow down when you need to, to take a breath, and to let your soul rest in His presence. He meets us in the quiet moments just as much as the busy ones.
As always, ALL of my full recipes are up on the blog so you can bake your way through them at wellmadebykiley.com <3.
Again, thank you for being here — whether you try one recipe or simply enjoy the scroll, I’m forever grateful you’re part of this community.
Here’s to another sweet, simple, and well made week ahead! And I hope you all have a beautiful Thanksgiving filled with joy and love. There is truly so much to be thankful for — big and small.
See you next Saturday,
Kiley 🤍
